Note: I'm going to leave off at the last paragraph, so you may recognize some material.
The sun disappeared behind the trees. The sky was dark. The day had died. A new one would come, but it would not be this one. Ana knew this, and being able to watch the day die made everything worthwhile.
Ana looked over at Ella. She was asleep. Of course. Thought Ana. It must be at least 10:30 by now.
Ana slipped back throught the window, and pulled Ella back in with her. She carried Ella over to the twin bed with the pink and yellow, heart-covered blanket and an orange pillow resting on it. This was Ella's bed. She and Ana shared a room. Ana set Ella down, and pulled the blanket over her. She loved her sister more than anything in the world.
Ana then walked over to her own twin bed, with a red and orange blanket (redder near the bottom, oranger near the top), and a yellow pillow. It made her feel like the dying sunset, with the darkness around her. It put her mind at ease, and she could easily go to sleep; and that's exactly what she did, from the moment her head hit the pillow.

Chapter 1
Ana crawled out of her window, and sat on the roof. She liked to stare at the sunset before it settled behind the trees. It was always such a sad moment; the fire being extinguished.
Ana gave a small chuckle, and sighed, again gazing out into the sunset.
Ana's little sister, Ella, who was four years younger, nine, crawled onto the roof with her. A slight breeze blew through the air, making Ella's straight blonde hair and Ana's wavy brown hair flutter. Ella quickly fixed her bangs, and muttered, "Urg."
Ana gave a small chuckle, and sighed, again gazing out into the sunset.
"Ana?" Ella asked. "Why do you always get so sad when the sun goes down?"
"I don't know, Ella. It's kind of like something good and sweet dying." Ana explained, nearly forgetting that she was talking to Ella, and just speaking her thoughts out loud.
"But the sun will be back tomorrow." Ella reminded Ana, curious.
"It won't be the same sun. It will be older, different." Ana said, trying to explain her thoughts to a nine-year-old. "Even so, when the different one dies, I will still miss it."
Ella sighed, reflectingly on their conversation. They both stared into space for a while.
The sun disappeared behind the trees. The sky was dark. The day had died. A new one would come, but it would not be this one.
